Every year, Instituto de Cervantes, the cultural arm of the Embassy of Spain, organizes Dia del Libro or International Book Day. This year it will be at the Ayala Triangle on April 27th, 2019.  Entrance is FREE! If you like books, you shouldn’t miss this!

Introduced in 2006 by Instituto Cervantes in Manila, Dia del Libro follows through the tradition in Catalonia, Spain. April 23rd is St. George’s Day (Diada de Sant Jordi), the Saint Patron of this historical region, has been commemorated since 1436, and involves the exchange of books and roses. The day also honors two great writers— Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.

Enjoy a day of books, poetry, music, dance, theater, concerts and Spanish food! There will be books in Spanish, Filipino and English— and a rose will be given for every purchase following the Spanish tradition. Festivities will start at 10:00 AM and end at 10:00 PM.
