What's a good read?
Whether it’s about dealing with metaphorical or literal monsters, the heart of horror stories lies in the sense of dreaded anticipation. How does one heighten this sense of dread with the mere use of words?
How to Write Horror is a six-hour crash course in the genre. You’ll learn how to make horror vivid in the reader’s imagination all throughout the process of conceptualization, planning, and execution. The course includes discussions on how fear works in different levels, how to develop the horror atmosphere, and how to keep your reader engaged.
How to Write Horror is taught by Dr. Joem Antonio, an eight-time winner of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards. He has a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from UP Diliman and is currently the Program Director of the MA Humanities program at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
