Gully Books Anniversary Book Blind Date Winners 

A book always comes with surprises. One won’t entirely know what lies in between its covers. There is always the possibility of finding a surprise you never knew existed. A good book is also like a blind date: you will never know how it will turn out unless you give it a shot.  It is only when you dive deep into it that you will discover the heart of the story, the personalities of the characters, and the inspiration to go through the journey with it.

As we turn 2, we launched a Book Blind Date contest wherein our fellow bibliophiles got a  chance to win a blind date with one of the books we gave away. Here are the winners of the contest and some of their reactions when they got their dates.

I am honored that out of all the contestants I have been picked to have the book blind date. I didn’t expect that I won when there was no e-mail on August 30. But the next day, I received an SNS saying a parcel from Gully Books is booked for me. I was happy and excited to know what book I got. I was honestly expecting a tear-jerker international book but got the complete opposite. I didn’t even doubt that that was the lie. I actually laughed a little at my expectations after seeing what came for me. The book that I received is not all that bad. I like Empoy, he’s a funny guy. I am thankful to Gully Books for picking me.

I was really looking forward to this event, and now that I’ve been picked as one of the Book Blind Date winners, I’m overjoyed. I chose GB-02 because of the word “spiritual”. Reading books about spiritual stories, poems, and quotes had always been a favorite pastime of mine. So when I first opened the package, I realized that my assumption was correct: the book is about self-care and spiritual growth. And right now, I’m reading it.

I hope there are more events like this in the future. I would enthusiastically participate in the events. Books are really valuable.
