Myths and Legends Day is a day to celebrate mythology and legends and their long history.  It is a day to remind us about the stories passed down from every culture and generation, created to entertain, inspire, and sometimes explain natural phenomena.

October 11th is Myths and Legends Day

There’s not enough information about how this special day started. It is also called Kraken Day—after the giant monster, often depicted as a cephalopod of ancient myths and legends. Kraken day (or National Kraken Awareness Day) is part of International Cephalopod Awareness Days (ICAD), an annual five-day-long celebration of the most intelligent invertebrates (animals without backbones) in the world, celebrated every October 8th to 12th. How it became known as Myths and Legends Day is a mystery.
