The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is spearheading the conduct of the Book Industry Summit (BIS) in November 2019. The summit will tackle trends and best practices in the book publishing business and will serve as a platform for industry players and stakeholders to forge partnerships aimed at increasing number of books, enhancing book quality, improving book affordability, and widening book discoverability.

We welcome submissions from individuals and organizations who are interested to present on topics such as research and data, policy and legal issues, creative economies, content development, distribution and marketing, readership, book printing, and professional development and careers related to the book industry. A submission may be an individual talk, panel discussion or program/project pitching session. All submissions will be reviewed by the NBDB and some will be developed as sessions for the summit.

All successful applicants will receive priority registration to the summit and complimentary luncheons. Each presenter is responsible for their handouts and other materials required for their session. The same is true for their travel and accommodations although the NBDB is willing to provide recommendations on organizations or government sector partners that could help applicants shoulder these costs.

NBDB will only shoulder travel and accommodations costs for speakers from outside Metro Manila.

The deadline for submission of proposals is August 30, 2019 (Friday), 11:59 pm.
