The world’s biggest book sale is back! Big Bad Wolf will open its virtual doors from June 30th to July 7th, 2021.
Launched in Malaysia in 2009, the book sale’s goal is to cultivate reading habits and increase English literacy. It has since gone global, touring 34 cities in 12 countries. Named after the Big Bad Wolf in “The Three Little Pigs,” the sale is the brainchild of BookXcess founders Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng. The book fair sells all types of books, including fiction, nonfiction, novels, literature, children’s literature, and young adult fiction. They also have collectible books and posters, wallpaper, movie posters, tin-plated signs, and merchandise.
This year’s massive sale offers a vast selection of books for both kids and adults. Aside from bestselling novels and foreign literature, special interest titles will also be available, along with comics and coffee table books. An entire section will also be dedicated to non-English titles.

This is Big Bad Wolf’s first online venture, a departure from the physical sale from previous years. For the first time, they will present their whole warehouse inventory of over 60,000 titles with 20,000,000 books. Due to constraints in 2020’s physical sale, they could only bring forward 3,000,000 books with 20,000 titles. But this year, there’s a whole lot more to choose from.
When some companies pivot towards digital, they end up being a lesser version of the physical business. Customers tend to talk about the things that they miss generally. In Big Bad Wolf’s case, it is a silver lining. Filipinos are now able to choose from their entire collection of books.
