In celebration of I Love To Write Day on November 15th, we open Gully Books for submissions. If you are between 13 to 20 and have a knack for writing, we invite you to submit your short stories, essays, and web articles. If your piece gets chosen, we will publish your work online. Published writers receive Gully Books swag and instant bragging rights!

I Love To Write Day

Authors aren’t the only ones who can write. After all, they had to start somewhere. Every famous writer began their first novel with just one word, even though that may seem difficult to believe.

I Love To Write Day

John Riddle, an American author, founded I Love to Write Day in 2002. When asked why he created a day dedicated to writing, he explained that his only goal is for everyone to start writing. Whether it is a short story, a poem, a love letter, a greeting card, or even a novel, it doesn’t matter as long as one celebrates the day by writing something.

I Love To Write Day is commemorated every November 15th all across the globe. The celebration resonates with different cultures, the Philippines included. It spans all genres, everything from novels to poetry to mail correspondence. The goal is for young people to sit down and write something, no matter how short or in what manner, on paper or a computer. Hopefully, this special day will kick-start their writing and give them confidence by being a part of a global movement.
